The Sultan Ahmed Mosque was built in the early seventeenth century under the Ottoman sultan Ahmed I and is located in Istanbul, Turkey. Although not constructed during the Golden Age of Islam, its architectural style emulates the efflorescent Islamic architecture from that period.
