This is an image from an Arabic-translated manuscript from De Materia Medica, which was a Greek text written by Dioscorides. Dioscorides was a physician in the Byzantine empire who conducted pharmacological and medical research around 70 CE. His work was referenced extensively throughout the Golden Age of Islam as a medicinal guide.
